Happy New Year

I hope you have a Happy New Year.  I am looking forward to 2017.  Have you sent any goals for the new year.  I have been off work with our holiday break this past week and have sent some goals for 2017 in my personal life and my business.  I have read that you need to write down your goals, that this will help you reach this goals.  So I have done this and working on my to do list to help reach these goals.  
This card has glimmer and is bright for the New Year.  Very easy and fun to make.  No stamping just using the framelits, designer paper and card stock.

Card Kits for January 2017

I hope that you have a had a great day.  I am enjoying my holiday break from work.  Today I was able to have lunch with some of my family and had a great time.  Then my daughter Amber 
came over with my soon to be grandson and we worked on her save the date cards.  We did all the cutting of the card stock, die cutting, some assembly and some stamping.  So just a little to do to finish them up.  
The engagement photos are next and then they will be ready to be mailed out.  So glad she took this week off and we we able to get a lot done today.

Lovely As a Tree Birthday Card

I hope everyone had a great Christmas time and was able to spend time with your families.  I have Christmas all packed up and put away until next year.  Now I am getting ready for the new Occasions catalog coming out January 4th. 

 Here is a fun card that I created for masculine birthday's for this month.  I used the Lovely As a Tree stamp set.  I think that this is stamp set that has been in our catalog for the longest at this time.  It is a good standard stamp set.

I sponged the back ground using the marina mist and wisteria wonder in the sky part and the pear pizzazz and chocolate chip in the ground area.

Floral Phrases Congratulations Card

Here is a card that created for my daughter Amber and Jose on their engagement.  She loves this framelit and wants to use it on her invitations.  So I wanted to create a special card for them.  I like the designer paper in this set.  Hopefully you can see the see the thinlit die of the navy paper at the bottom of the card.  It has a beautiful lacy look.

Gift Bags

This is great idea to do after after all the shopping everyone did this past weekend.  I have taken a bag from Sephora and decorated it to use a gift bag. Sephora is one of my favorite stores and I liked the black bag.  I did this more for a birthday because of the designer paper I chose.  To make it a Christmas bag, all you'd have to do is use Christmas designer paper.  I cut the designer paper in 3" squares.  I used the flower from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlit as the bow.  I cut a strip 1/4" x 3" for the ribbon.  Thank you Patty Bennett for the idea.

Cookie Cutter Christmas Card

I have a fun Christmas card to share with you today.  Great to give to all the bakers you know with your friends and family.  It is a fun and easy card to create.  
To create the handles for the baking pan, I punched out two circles (34" punch) on the smoky slate card stock.  Then I put the silver foil paper over it and you don't see the holes.

Swirly Scribbles Happy Birthday

This is a fun birthday card to create.  I like the colors for this card.  We are using the Swirly Scribbles thinlits.  I do have to confess that when the new catalog came out in June, this stamp set or thinlits were not on high on my wish list.  Then I saw all the samples that other demonstrators were doing with the set and it changed my mind.  I can't believe how many cards I have created using this set.  I am glad I changed my mind about this set.  I do use wax paper with this thinlit because the card stock does come out so much easier.  Put the wax between the card stock and thinlit.  Makes is so my easier to pop the card stock from the thinlit.

Vintage Leafs Birthday Card

I wanted to created a card with fall colors.  I am trying to get into the fall spirit, it is hard when the weather is still so hot here in Southern California.  I made my own back ground paper by stamping the leaves all over the vanilla card stock.  My goal was to make a masculine birthday card with fall colors.

Designer Tin of Cards Project Kit

Here is a picture of the cards we created from our Designer tin of Cards Project Kit at our class on Saturday,.  It was a fun class and I love the cards that are in this kit. I only changed one of the cards from "Sending Love" to "Thank you".  I use thank you cards more,  That's what is great about our kists is that you stamp your own greeting you'd like on your project.   Each one is different with the design, colors and accessories.  We had a great class and everyone liked the projects and enjoyed the time together stamping and creating.

Swirly Bird Happy Birthday Card

Here is a bright and cheerful birthday card that I CASED from my friend Barb.  We had a fun time stamping together a few weeks ago.  This is a stamp set that I had seen quite a few demonstrators creating projects using.  I wasn't too sure of the bundle but after going to class and using Barb's bundle, I ordered it.  The only thing that I recommend is that you use wax paper with the thinlits, it makes it so much easier to separate the card stock from the thinlit.

Flourishing Phrases Thank you card

I went to another demonstrator class in June and learned to do this fold.  It is very easy and shows the pretty design on the other side our designer paper.  I just love this Pop of Pink designer paper we have.  Fun card to create and give to someone letting them know that thankful you are or you could change the  greeting.  I think it would be a great birthday card.  Change the greeting and have fun creating your card.

Directions for the fold:

  

Here are the directions for Pleated Paper Fold technique (also known as the Curtain Fold or Drapery Fold). 

Measurements:

4-1/4" x 11" Cucumber Crush cardstock, scored at 5-1/2" to make a standard card.

3" x 8-3/8" Designer Paper

1/2" x 4-1/4" Watermelon Wonder cardstock

2-3/4" x 3-3/4" Very Vanilla cardstock

Directions:

Score the designer paper at 3", 4", 6", and 7".

Using your Stampin' Trimmer, line up one end of the paper at 1" and the opposite edge of the 3" score mark in the cutting line and cut.

Fold the paper back and forth to create a pleat and adhere to your card.

Bloomin Love Bridal Shower Card

I LOVE our glimmer paper.  I love the glimmer that it give a project without having to use the glitter.  When ever I use the glitter, I have it all over the area and me. This is a card that I created to give Kelsea at her bridal shower.  I used the precision base plate and the big shot die brush to get all the little pieces out to the heart.  Also I put the glitter paper face down and the thinlit on the back of the glimmer paper because it is a thicker paper and I wanted the back to cut easier.

Going Global Card

My card to share with you today is another sample that with the stamp set, designer paper and emboss folder from our new Occasions Catalog.  I created this card from my trip to San Diego for Stampin' Up "On Stage" event I attended.  I learned something different we did with the emboss folder.  We inked the folder, put the card stock inside and pressed on the older to put the ink in the card stock.  We didn't use the Big Shot and emboss the card stock, it have a nice background for this card.

Happy New Year to you and your family.  I hope that you are looking forward to a new year.  For me I have been doing some reflecting and am very blessed with what the Lord had done in my life this past year.  I know that I am looking forward to the new year and have set some goals for me.  I hope that you have had some time to reflect and set goals for yourself.
